A busy morning of holiday fun is slated for the Churdan public library Saturday, Dec. 11.
The library will host an open house from 9 to 11 am, but activities continue through 1 pm.
An Ugly Sweater Contest is in progress now, with the winner to be announced Saturday at noon. Vote tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Proceeds will benefit the library.
A silent auction is also under way, with bids closing at 12:30 pm Saturday. Bids can be made via the library’s Facebook page through Friday at 5 pm. All bids on Saturday must be in person or via telephone/text. Persons who want more information about bidding can call the library at 515-389-3423.
The winning bids will be announced after the Lions Club children’s drawing (for infants through 6th grade) at 1 pm. Santa will visit with children from 12:30 to 1 pm.
Also, the vintage Martin House, located at the corner of Head and Jay Sts, will hold an open house for the public Saturday from 9 to 11 am.
